Brett Sullivan

MLB catcher and proud Italian-American helping grow the game across Europe: on and off the field.

Brett Sullivan is a Major League catcher whose path to the big leagues has been defined by perseverance, family, and pride in his heritage. Born and raised in Stockton, California, Brett played college baseball at the University of the Pacific alongside his brother Tyler, before being selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 17th round of the MLB Draft. He went on to spend seven seasons in the Rays’ organization, playing at every level of the minor leagues.

After signing a major league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers, he was traded to the San Diego Padres, where he made his MLB debut in 2023 and returned to the big leagues in 2024. In 2025, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates and once again earned a call-up to the majors.

Brett proudly represented Team Italy in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, a moment that was deeply personal. Raised in a close-knit Italian-American household, Brett’s weekends and holidays were filled with family, tradition, and the values passed down from his mother’s side of the family. Having traveled to Italy eight times, his connection to the culture runs deep.

After visiting Italy with Gianmarco Faraone and witnessing the passion for baseball there, Brett has been committed to helping grow the game throughout Italy and Europe. His involvement in this project reflects both his professional experience, personal roots, and a strong belief in what baseball can become internationally.
